The warm summer days at Hartford’s Camp Courant are filled with moments of excitement, fun, friendship, and self-confidence. As the oldest and largest FREE summer day camp in the nation, Hartford’s Camp Courant provides a safe, exciting and educational environment in which Hartford’s youth, ages five (5) through 12, participate in active learning opportunities and fun activities focused on positive youth development and healthy lifestyle choices. As a youth development organization, we combine traditional camp activities with enrichment programming that exposes our campers to ideas and opportunities which spark their imaginations and inspires them to be their best in a safe, nurturing, fresh-air setting. Camp Courant is the only summer camp available to Hartford’s youth which provides round-trip transportation, preventive and acute health and social work services, two nutritious meals a day, and recreational, educational and developmental activities, all at no cost to the camper or his or her family.
For 123 years, Camp Courant has been able to provide a wonderful summer experience to Hartford’s young people, thanks in part to the support of organizations such as the Max Cares Foundation. Without the support of the community, our campers would not have the opportunity to participate in activities such as nature, financial literacy, STEM education, music and performance, and more. On behalf of Hartford’s kids, thank your ongoing support. We look forward to serving Hartford’s young people for another 123 years and beyond.
