ABOUT US

THE MISSION
The Foundation’s mission is to provide financial assistance to non-profit educational and charitable organizations in the Greater Hartford community. In addition, the Foundation has established a scholarship program for graduating seniors who intend to pursue careers in the hospitality and/or culinary fields and meet other criteria as determined by the Board’s scholarship committee.

THE FOUNDATION
Max Cares Foundation, Inc. was established in 2015 and approved as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public charity in 2016. Richard Rosenthal (then President of Max Restaurant Group), through the various Max restaurants, had been supporting various community outreach programs for over 20 years and decided to formalize its charitable arm by creating the Foundation. Mr. Rosenthal’s vision for the Foundation, which has been adopted by and carried out by the Board, is to provide financial support to underserved individuals and families in the Greater Hartford and Greater Springfield communities. The Foundation supports many charitable and non-profit educational organizations that support people with food insecurities, mental health issues, housing issues, and educational needs. Max Cares Foundation also provides scholarships to qualified candidates pursuing a post-secondary degree in the culinary arts and hospitality fields.
